Coco did great, by the way! She layed in Matt’s lap and only poked her head up and rested her chin on the table when food was delivered. She was very calm and didn’t make a peep.

Not much to say - busy as usual. I could just write about how much I love my dog, as I have been doing for the past 2 weeks, but I’ll spare you.. We are, however, taking her for her first patio dinner this evening at Mia’s - our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. Hopefully she will just curl up in my lap and let Mama drink her margahrita in relative peace. And…that’s it....
Good Housekeeping Be Damned →
Samantha’s new blog. We were joking that mine should be called “I love Good Housekeeping!” She has a feminist view on dating/life in general, whereas I love playing housewife.

Correction
In my post about our trip to NY I said that NY was my favorite state. Obviously, I was just feeling the afterglow of being in Manhattan - which is my favorite CITY. OHIO will always be my favorite state. Love my home first.
Friday night in
Last night I told Matt to quit complaining about the Passover dietary restrictions…no bread (pasta included), rice, corn, beans (legumes in general). Tonight I am thinking, “Damn! Gimme some Mexican food!” Instead, we had delicious salmon on the grill and sauteed spinach. And macaroons. The kosher for Passover desserts are really good, as I mentioned before. I’m all...
New York, New York
K, you all who know me know that I don’t need to say I LOVE NEW YORK. But I will say it again. I LOVE NEW YORK. We stayed at the nicest hotel in the city. It was rated the best hotel in NYC for 2007. Gorgeous. Love my boyfriend. The pope was in town - right across the street at St. Patrick’s cathedral. The streets all around the hotel and cathedral were blocked off on Saturday,...
Coco time
There’s my girl. She’s the easiest doggy I ever did see. Just wants to be held/touched/loved. THAT’S IT. She won’t even eat, if it means being away from us for one second. Which may be a problem…I need to email the Dog Whisperer…
Home again, home again
Life has been CRAZY since we returned from New York. We are just getting used to being dog parents. One major life adjustment - no evening workouts for me anymore? Besides a measly 1/2 hour walk with the d-o-g? Yep. Because I just want to be with my baaaayyyyyybeeeeeeeeee!!!! (Previous sentence said in smoochy-woochy voice.)

This is the hotel Matt picked for this trip to NYC. He always finds a really great place to stay! I’m excited - it looks beautiful!
Chinese food
I hate it. It is gross. But……I am exhausted and skipped yoga and am having a glass of wine and have a new doggie and am technically on vacation….sooooooo….I’m in a good mood. When Matt suggested Chinese food for dinner I agreed for the first time in probably close to 2 years. You should have seen his face when he realized I was serious. I won’t even eat at...
Matthew and I are so happy to have little Coco now. She has the sweetest temperament in the world and just wanted to be held all afternoon. I mean, she’ll probably have more energy when it hasn’t been 1 day since major surgery, but I bet she will still be sweet!! Now she is boarded at the vet - where the girls were awesome and promised to love her and fatten her up while we are...
Tomorrow we pick up Coco! She was spayed today. The city won’t release dogs from the shelters until they have been spayed or neutered to ensure that there are no more unwanted dogs being born from them. Our little baby doggy then has to go to City Vet to be boarded until Monday. We really didn’t want to do this, but we have had plans to go to New York this weekend for Passover....
So tired...
I cannot catch up on sleep this week! We had a bit of a crazy sleeping situation this weekend. Matt and I discovered a gas leak in his house after dropping my parents off to my apartment on Thursday night. We hung out - not really sure what it was that we smelled - watched tv, got ready for bed, etc. I started to get a headache, so that worried me along with the wierd smell. We eventually...
Things for Coco
Today I bought some pink patterned collars and a pink leash. Also a pink bone shaped ID tag. Matt and I picked out toys galore last night and pink food/water bowls. I have a kennel and a fluffy kennel floor cuddly for her too. I need a blankie to wrap her in when I pick her up after surgery (she’s getting spayed) so I can snuggle her close. I also need a doggie travel bag for flying or...
No AKC Brussels Griffon puppies for me.
So…..we took my parents to the Paws in the City adoption event on Saturday afternoon - just because I can’t drive by without stopping - even when I have 2 puppies on deposit already. Yes, I love dogs. Matthew found a basset hound named Thomas that he really liked. (Backstory: Matthew loves basset hounds and has always wanted one.) I thought Thomas had beautiful, almost human eyes...
Parents in town
My parents just arrived - thankfully they were not affected by all the flight cancellations. We are going to Mia’s for mexican food and frozen swirls! Yum! We leave for Matt’s in 30 minutes.
Busy as a bee!
So…it’s been a crazy week already. And it’s only Tuesday. I just have a lot of work to do because of our company realignment - I am in a new territory with new partners and a new boss. And it’s a new fiscal year, so new goals, new business plan, etc. It’s a small learning curve. I will get the hang of it after a few weeks of going through my routing. Sales...
PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We put a deposit on these two Brussels Griffons today. We will go look at them in 3 weeks, because we have my parents this weekend and are traveling to visit Matt’s family the next weekend. If we don’t like what we see when we get there (puppy mill, sketchy breeders, etc) then we are out the deposit and 10-11 hours drive time. But we really want to be sure that these babies are...

Samantha, are you reading this? Tonight your brother and I had mexican food. And we enjoyed it. I had 2 frozen swirl margahritas and I am feel-ing hap-py! Just want to make sure you have our daily food update because we haven’t heard from you this evening. Oh, Matt just said you are in Florida with your dad. Can’t wait to see you in two weeks! I actually wrote the following post on Wednesday night, but had to remove and edit due to my guilt from reading The Four Agreements - Only use your word for good. With integrity. Pretty sure I am still ripping on this guy, but I can’t help it. Another moral source told me that honesty is the best policy :)

I love Ohioans. I am an Ohioan. But when I moved to Texas, I realized that the rest of the country might not see my beloved home state like I do… -I have been told that salads in Ohio consist only of iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing. This is incorrect. My family has always eaten wonderfully diverse salads with many different types of greens and other delicious and...
