I still feel like crap.  Going to see Sex and The City tonight with some girlfriends.  I think they are dressing up - you know, because the show is so focused on fashion and Carrie’s amazing outfits, etc. etc.  I usually wear a hoodie sweatshirt to the movies because I get cold.  And since I feel sick, I would prefer to be dressed comfortably.  I will make some effort and wear jeans instead...

I’m not feeling great today.  I’m waiting for whatever is in my chest and throat to turn into a full blown cold.  Might skip yoga today and rest.   Last night was Nelson’s going away party at State and Allen Lounge, one of the few dog friendly patios in town.  Kate’s step-dad, Rick, had driven down for work and he left with Nelson this morning. Back to Ohio they go.  Poor...

Tei Tei's 10 year anniversary
Tonight Matthew and I went to the anniversary party for our favorite sushi restaurant, Tei Tei, and its sister restaurant Teppo.  Free sushi and sashimi, rolls, hot food, drinks, valet.  They mailed us a formal invitation and it was a really nice event!  We have fun getting to know the people who work at our favorite restaurants - we are creatures of habit so we can’t help but get to know...

What a lazy weekend
But I don’t care.  It’s exactly how a wanted my long weekend to be.  Relaxing and filled with pool time and frozen drinks.   Today we bought Coco this fat kangaroo squeaky toy that she loves.  It is hilarious.  I can’t believe how much enjoyment this little dog provides us!  We also laid at the pool again.  I had some frozen mango drink and read about Janine Turner doing a...

We finally escaped the house and went to Matt’s club to lay out and eat a late lunch.  It was nice to have some sun!  SPF 45 on my face of course though.  There was this family of 3 boys, maybe aged 12, 9, and 3 that were swimming with their grandparents.  It was one of those little vignettes that could make you cry.  All three of the brothers were physically disabled, and the youngest one...

The garage door broke last night when we got home.  As in, the cable snapped and the door came crashing down while we were inside the garage.  It was a scary LOUD noise, and I am just thankful that no one and no car were in its way.  So now we are spending our Saturday of Memorial Day weekend sitting inside waiting for the repairman to come….

Birthday Recap
The rugelach were not homemade.  They were shipped frozen from Israel and then baked at the deli.  Ok, not what I was looking for when I asked if they made fresh baked rugelach.  So…they were not good.  Two birthday cake failures in a row.  But it’s the thought that counts, so says my wonderful boyfriend.  I also forgot to use the 3 and 0 candles that I had picked up, so he can just...

TIME FOR SOME STORIES →
This guy Dave writes great short stories about his life.  They make me laught out loud!  Here is one:EVERY GODDAMNED CHRISTMAS MY DAD AND MY UNCLE RON GET INTO IMPORTANT ARGUMENTS ABOUT POLITICS AND THE BEST AIRPORTS IN ZURICH AND WHICH PRESIDENTS ARE ASSHOLES IN PERSON AND THAT SORT OF THING. MY OTHER UNCLE D. IS KIND OF THE BLACK SHEEP IN THE FAMILY AND WE DON’T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO HIM....

Matthew is turning 30
This Thursday, May 22nd is my sweet Matthew’s 30th birthday.  I will be too busy to blog much that day so I will fill you in on our plans….I will be working a booth for my company at a medical conference all day, then I plan to drive to this little place called Milk and Honey Jerusalem Market and Grill. They apparently are the only place in the city that bakes fresh rugelach every...

Recap
I had so much fun with Ed and Jen.  They are real, down to earth people (you know, the type that is difficult to locate in Dallas).  I wish we lived closer to one another so that we could hang out all the time!  They are really great.  We took them to Mia’s for Mexican food and to Dunston’s for ribs, Jen and I went to yoga Sunday morning, and we all went to the Radiohead concert Sunday...

The theme of the marketing piece is “Yogi by night,” so obviously I am a pharmaceutical sales rep by day.  Get it??  There were all sorts of different daytime careers represented in various asanas - it was very cool.

It's the weekend again! Yay!
I am eating dark chocolate covered Gogi berries.  Yummy and good for me.  We repeated last Friday night’s dinner:  Salmon-feta-spinach burger on wheat bun with kalamata olive and garlic tapenade, salad with Garlic Expressions, wine.  This time - Toasted Head Chardonnay.  It is always in the cold case by the checkout line at Whole Foods, and is quite good.  I could eat this dinner 3 times a...

On another note...
Life could be much, much worse.  I think I need to patent this kind of therapy I do for myself.  It goes like this:  Bitch, bitch, bitch, yell, curse, grumble, complain, act irrationally and loudly, then realize how good you have it.  And appreciate it. Thanks for listening!

This week
is just like every other.  Work, squeeze in some exercise, eat dinner, fall into bed.  I don’t mean to be negative, but… Actually I do mean to be negative.  Sometimes it just feels good.  I don’t want anyone to tell me how lucky I am to have a good job, or that attitude is everything.  I just want to bitch about how I wish I had more time on my hands, or just more energy for...

Ohio is also relatively neurotic, as compared to the rest of the country.  Hmmm…that explains a lot…

Today was Coco’s first day at doggie daycare.  We tried out Petropolitan for the first time and I think she did ok…I couldn’t really ask anyone because at pickup time it was crazy in there.  Everyone was coming in to take home their doggies, who were barking - all excited to see their parents.  When Matthew and I checked on her throughout the morning via phone, they said she was...

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Mia’s is the greatest place.  After 2 frozen swirl margahritas, I told Matthew that if Mia’s ever was going under, about to close down - I would use all my savings to buy the restaurant and keep everyone employed.  Just so it would remain exactly the same.  I love it!  I just had my favorite ‘ritas, guacamole and Ernesto’s special. Matt had 50/50 fajitas and a few Coronas....

This weekend
On Friday night I went to candlelight yoga at 6:00, and then came home and took Coco for a walk with Matthew.  After feeding her, we ordered Brother’s Pizza (the only pizza in town that even remotely resembles New York style pizza).  I ate 4 pieces of pepperoni pizza with garlic powder and red chili flakes.  YUM.  We also opened a bottle of Shiraz that my aunt Lynnie gave us at Christmas -...
