I am hoping
that my husband’s last minute flight home is not delayed or he will be stuck in blizzardy Chicago for the next few days. He has to make it in tonight because DFW will be a mess too by morning. We don’t do freezing sleet very well down south. Everything shuts down. So much for business travel in the winter.
Maharishi Vedic City →
I just saw this on Extreme Towns on the Travel Channel. It is essentially a yoga city. Definitely extreme, but still kind of cool.
Saturday
I was up early today. Gigi had her annual exam at the vet at 8:00. I grabbed a latte and took her in, then stopped to pick up fresh flowers for the house on the way home. Matt and the other doggies were up by then, so we took a long walk in the beautiful weather. It is in the 70s today! Matt is on his way to play golf and I have an appointment at the gym with my “special needs”...
Wow.
I hate watching Michelle Bachmann speak almost as much as I hate watching Sarah Palin speak.
You know,
as opposed to a quick shot of him playing basketball on the news. But that’s pretty cool too.
Our president is so personable.
I still feel a surge of pride when I see him in this context.
Yay, now I'm excited for the Super Bowl!
If for no other reason than a midwestern team is playing and my friend Abby will be running a gifting suite.

Yay!
Good morning!
We just took the diggety dogs on a brisk, chilly walk around the big loop in our neighborhood. I’m making a cup of tea and going to curl up on the couch for an hour while Matt gets an oil change. Kitchen Nightmares is on the BBCA. It’s a slow weekend morning at home, just how I like ‘em. I miss the New York Times though. I might have to subscribe again…
But I love the Jersey Shore,
fake nails and all! Catching up tonight…
Fake nails are THE grossest thing.
Agreed. Just…why? Does anyone worth emulating have them? No. Gross.
More Than Mary Skeleton: Don't Get Cheesed about... →
I enjoy cheese on a daily basis, and this pleases me :). Tonight it is aged Manchego, Robusto, and Barely Buzzed goat cheese. Mmmmm.

MR Note: This is the best news I’ve heard all week!! I’m obsessed with the Under $3 bin at Whole Foods and any soft white cheese that melts in my mouth at room temperature. Umm…did that come out wrong?

Sorry for the cheesy...
I just asked my husband why, when he cleans up, does he just put the dishes in the sink? He said, “Because that’s where you wipe them and put them in the dishwasher.” Ohhhhhhhh, right. I forgot about that part of him cleaning up.
He’s lucky he’s so cute.
My day
Today, after seeing a stray/lost doggy in my sad, sad territory, and after stopping and attempting to coax it into being rescued with Beggin’ Strips (always in the car, along with fresh water, food, and bowls), and after having it run away, completely scared of me…I was upset. I always am after I fail at rescuing a homeless pup. Especially when there is a cold front coming through,...
