The dishwasher lining is seeping into every load, leaving black specks, and therefore needs to be replaced. We will go to Sears this weekend, fun. The dryer has a bundle of wires and a wooden spoon stuck in the lint filter, so that needs to be serviced. Don’t even ask, it’s just the way I run shit. Crazy. The garage door won’t shut, so that needs to be fixed. $$$. I am...

Today, a woman walking in the hallway at the hospital told me I had “such Danish features.” Um…thanks, I think, stranger… Then, later in the day at CVS, the little elderly cashier asked, “Did anyone ever tell you that you look like Madonna?” Weird.

We are out of the closet, yay.
Thank God the storms here weren’t as bad as in poor Joplin.  The cells went just north of us and just south of us, actually.  My sales territory is getting the brunt of it.  Poor stray doggies :(

I really want one of these. I swear to God. My husband thinks I’m crazy, but maybe he should check out the weather news here lately…

Oh, we received more good news today...
Besides being relieved about the non-bed bug situation, we are very happy that Matthew was admitted to the Cox business school Executive MBA program at SMU. He got the acceptance email this afternoon. Yippee! Congrats to my smarty pants husband.

I love fleas.
Because at least they are not bed bugs, and those are what I was afraid was biting me.  Our pest control guys saw no signs of bed bugs today, but they are guessing fleas since we do have 3 dogs and play with rescue pups all the time.   Thank you, fleas, for not being bed bugs.  You are more welcome in my house than they are any day.  But it’s time for you to go, so sorry about the bug...

I have a terrible lack of depth perception.
Twice today I have banged my forehead into something - my car and a laundry room cabinet.  My car is the most common thing I bang my forehead into, usually when heaving my sample cart out of or into the backseat.  I just, I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me sometimes….

I can’t even with this. I’m so happy he’s home, but I’m so neurotically building a tornado shelter and shoving my 3 dogs down into it whenever it gets a little windy. thedailywhat: Heartwarming Tearjerker of the Day: Mason’s family had all but given up on him after a tornado that ripped through Birmingham, AL, on April 27th picked up the terrier mix, who was hiding...

You guys,
1) Today I listened to the entirety of Color Me Badd’s “I Adore Mi Amor” because it was the best option on my preset Serius Satellite car radio stations at the moment. It felt weirdly pleasant. Like, I kind of enjoyed that song, both back in the day and now. If that’s gross, then I don’t care. 2) I did not see any stray doggies while working or otherwise,...

Part of my worst daily nightmare happened today.
All week long, in my shitty sales territory, I see stray dogs running along the side of the busy roads I drive on, some being major highways. I often see remnants of poor dogs who didn’t make it when they tried to cross. It depresses me for the rest of the day. If only you had a good owner, perhaps you wouldn’t have been trying to cross I-35, I think to myself. I will always stop...

When I return home from a weekend with the girls,
I always feel exactly the same. I am exhausted, I am hungover, I have no voice, I have new bruises, and I have a thousand new funny memories. It’s as though we try to cram a year’s worth of togetherness into one weekend. These visits keep the memories alive. All we do is laugh about old stories while living new ones. What a bunch of nucking futs those girls are (me included). I...

The shit that I deal with. There is another article about what not to say to people with RA (or serum negative RA/psoriatic arthritis/sjogren’s, which I have), that several people in my life should read. No I don’t feel better, I will never feel better, and my f-ing toes are fine for now, you clearly don’t get it, thanks.

Divorce party!
Well, she is calling it a “Girls Weekend,” but as we all descend on Charlotte, NC tomorrow evening, the mood will be more about showing this one specific girl exactly how strong and special she is. She is hosting this Girls Weekend, as it turns out, one year almost exactly after her husband left her in the worst way possible - for another woman, who is pregnant, and with secret...

Helping Matt edit business school application...
I used to be a darn good student. I just hope my grad school paper writing skills from 2001 aren’t outdated. Are there trends to these things? We need a book if (when!) he gets in.

Seinfeld live tonight
I’m excited! We saw him the last time he was in Dallas and he puts on a great show. He’s so funny that you don’t want it to end. Before the show we are attempting to have dinner at Samar, a Stephen Pyles tapas restaurant. They have no reservations open but encouraged us to come try their walk-in seating. So we shall see if that works. The food is really good, I’ve...
