My in-laws are arriving at any minute.
I hope we have a nice time together. That is all.

I haven't been posting much lately.
Been kind of in a funk. I’m doing my normal activities: work, animal rescue volunteering, occasional exercise, playing with my doggies, lunches and dinners with friends, seeing husband around his work/school schedule, perusing the web for house ideas, endless lists of errands to run and tasks to complete…this is my life.
I have every blessing I could hope for. But sometimes I feel...

It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.

It sure does. Decisions, decisions…
Tonight I went to the late yoga class and then out...
Liza strapped a HUGE bra to her chair before she arrived at the table. Giggles.

Your Nutritionista: The 20 Most Commonly... →
A friend of mine pronounces foie gras wrong all the time and it really bugs because she considers herself a gourmand. The FAUX gras was fabulous!

So you’ll never avoid ordering something because you can’t pronounce it again!
Chipotle: By far the most common response, which surprised me given the proliferation of the chain restaurants named after the smoked pepper. Proper...
Here is another weather post.
It’s still hot in Dallas. 105 today, beating the record high for this date by 5 degrees. Today we also beat the record for most days above 100 degrees in a calendar year.
Despite wearing SPF 70 (!), I think I gained more wrinkles this summer from the sun than in the whole decade of my 20s.
My sister in law has to be at Ground Zero at...
I think I mentioned that she works for Mayor Bloomberg during the Hurricane Irene weekend in which she spent all hours at City Hall. Well, tomorrow the press apparently arrives at 5:00, so they have to be there even earlier. I’m sure it proves to be an emotional and exhausting day.
I hate being weird and overly dramatic, but I am sometimes anyway…so may I say, I will be thinking of...

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is...
Do you know what Sensodyne Pronamel does?
It makes it so you still feel the initial “Yikes!” when ice cold water hits your teeth, but then the feeling just stops. It’s like a pleasant surprise that you don’t get the full sensitive teeth chills. Maybe it works from the inside out.
This has been my research, presented to you for consideration.

Oh, just at the vet inducing vomiting in all 3...
Rat poison was put in a “dog proof” box by garage wall about 1:30. Dogs went outside about 3:30, after pest control left. I found Harold happily licking green pellets about 4:00. WTF?!!
I really like and trust our pest control guys, so I did not go ape shit berserk on them over the phone…I simply asked what I should do. So here we are at the vet with vomiting dogs and a...
I miss Ohio today.
I think it’s because I spent time with Kate this past weekend. A bit of nostalgia. Or maybe because it feels like fall (at 89 degrees, ha) and fall is my favorite season in the Midwest. Regardless, I’m feeling homesick. Is that even possible after living somewhere else for 8 years? I guess it is.
As of Saturday morning, my vision was 20/15 in my...
And it should only get better from there! I’ve been doing my medicated drops 4 times per day and using rewetting drops every hour or so….drops drops drops. I’m amazed at the results of my LASIK procedure. AMAZED. I can see everything crisply and clearly, and I am so thankful. My vision was previously 20/600. Enough said.
