Car update
Since Monday, Honda has jacked up their prices on the CRV and the Pilot $100 more per month than we were quoted. Our salesman told us yesterday that the dealership added $1300 to MSRP because Hondas are in demand now that gas prices are going up. Um, whatever. I love the big ole’ boxy Pilot (driving it is like cruising around on the couch in your cozy den), and I appreciate the gas...

Texas doctor accused of record $350M Medicare scam →
ABC news didn’t have the correct video up.  This is blowing my mind.  We brought lunch to the Medistat offices, what they are now calling “The BoiIer Room.”  I really liked his wife, Dr. Louise Lamarre.  She was so nice, but she had to have known?  Craziness.

Biggest Medicare Fraud in History Busted, Say Feds... →
Dr. Jacques Roy was my number one prescriber in my sales territory until I resigned last Friday.  WOW.

Heading to Honda to borrow a Pilot overnight.
We are not even sure it will fit in our garage next to Matt’s car. If it does, then it might be mine. If not, CRV it is. We checked out the GLK today too but I can’t justify the cost. I’m happy in a Honda, either way!

I am absolutely ravenous today, and I'm not sure...
For lunch I ate: -almost a whole red bell pepper with hummus -a rather large amount of Indian quinoa and lentils (my new addiction) -a kale/beets/carrots salad with olive oil, lemon, red chili pepper flakes and sea salt -several forkfuls of chicken salad with grapes and walnuts in it (my favorite style) -Stacey’s multigrain pita chips with Love Dip -one date coconut roll (another new...

I will never believe Angelina Jolie eats.
She has a peppermint tea only body. She doesn’t even look strong and healthy skinny. Just, I’m not eating skinny.

Good morning, Sunday
The sun is shining beautifully. I’m about to put some SPF 50 on my retinol peeling face and walk the dogs. Then hopefully devour the New York Times because I’m behind a week. I have to read last Sunday’s news before I read today’s paper. I’m usually somewhat behind but still enjoy it. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are too…have a nice day.

The first and last car I bought was a Honda CRV in 2003. I was hired into pharmaceutical sales and given a company car 6 months later. I kept my personal vehicle for after work and the weekends for 2 more years because I loved it, and it was the first big purchase I had ever made. I finally sold it back to the dealership and used whatever my company had for 7 more years. It was an awesome perk....

Tonight...
We went to Temple tonight to say a prayer for Matt’s Mother. When we arrived, the parking lot was almost full and cars were streaming in. Matt said, “Oh crap, is it some weird holiday I don’t know about?” The Jewish calendar has a lot of holidays. A lot. Turns out, it was a special Jazz Shabbat service and all the prayers and songs were extra specially jazzy. (The...

But I can’t because I will be looking for a new car all day tomorrow, attending a memorial service at Temple for Matthew’s mom at night, and then looking for cars again all day on Saturday. We at Animal Rescue of Texas generally operate on a last minute basis, so I would normally just say sure, why not? Puppies!!!! But at 11 weeks old they need a lot of pees. Like, regular...

I am sorry if It seems that I didn’t reply, but I also don’t want to be a weirdo who sends 3 replies :) I’m not sure how it’s working right now. But hey, the Douchelord title fits perfectly, and I’m looking into Cobra insurance, so thank you! I hope you are feeling better!

Trying to release this negative energy...
I just found out that when I put in my 2 week resignation on Friday, my boss did not accept it and terminated my pay/health insurance/car insurance immediately. Only, he didn’t tell me this, so I have been to the doctor for an appointment and also driven all over every day since Friday in my company car with no insurance to cover either. Typically all these benefits disappear at the end of...

She is by far my fanciest friend, but also very sweet and will appreciate any small gesture. All of us girls usually just do birthday lunches and pay for the birthday girl’s lunch, bring cards, and that’s that. But K’s husband is throwing her a big 40th birthday party, they’ve rented out a fun restaurant/bar in Uptown, and I anticipate it being a special event. So,...

Had a checkup with my orthopedic surgeon today...
Surgery is available if I want it! But no hurry, I can keep on keepin’ on at the snail’s pace of recovery my shoulder has had thus far if I prefer that. Which I do, to surgery, because it’s already been 4 months of absolutely no upper body workouts, so what’s another 4 months? Even more flabby, shapeless arms? Better than setting me back 4 months and starting...

thecranium: The ASPCA’s “Quick Kill” bill sponsored in New York State would allow New York pounds to kill lost pets upon arrival—without any hold period—if pound employees deem the animals in “psychological pain,” which is not defined. The bill also removes other protections for shelter animals and makes it easier for pounds to continue killing for convenience. Read Best Friends Animal...
